Residence Halls

Living in a residence hall while attending college provides a socially rich and academically supported experience. Living in a residence hall gives the advantage of being closer to classes and being able to tune in to what’s happening on campus. Students who live in residence halls tend to make more friends, attain higher GPA’s, gain leadership experience, and manage their time more effectively than those who do not live in residence halls. Other advantages to living in the Southern Oregon University residence halls include:

Shasta Hall

Shasta Hall is part of Raider Village and features a semi-suite design with both single and double rooms available. This is primarily a first-year community, but open to all students.

Shasta Hall is also home to The Garden (LGBTQIA+) Community on the 2nd floor.

McLoughlin Hall

McLoughlin Hall is part of Raider Village and features a suite design with double, single, super-single, and studio-single rooms available. This is primarily a returning & transfer student community, but open to all students.

McLoughlin Hall is also home to the Multicultural Community on the 2nd floor.

Madrone Hall

Madrone Hall an apartment-suite design single rooms in a 4 person apartment-suite. Suites come with a full-kitchen. This is returning and transfer student community.

Live-On Requirement

University Housing has a live-on requirement.

All incoming first-year undergraduate students, within one year of high school graduation, are required to live-on campus for their first year at Southern Oregon University.
