Marc Overbeck
Director of Government Relations
Marc Overbeck is the Director of Government Relations at SOU. He brings with him an extensive experience in legislative issues, federal strategy and fundraising to advocate for the needs of the university, its students, faculty, staff, and the region. Marc joined SOU in February 2024 after a long career with Oregon state government that included the Oregon Legislature, Governor’s Office, and state agencies such as the Oregon Employment Department, Department of Human Services and the Oregon Health Authority where he spent 12 years developing expertise in health care workforce development. Marc is a 4th generation Oregonian with a strong passion for giving back to the community and appreciates the opportunity to advocate for SOU and for the importance of public universities in meeting the state’s future challenges.
Rob Patridge
University General Counsel
Rob Patridge serves as the General Counsel at Southern Oregon University. He has served in many different roles in the Oregon State Legislature as well as in the private sector. During his three terms as an Oregon State Representative Rob served in positions of Majority Whip, Chair of the Public Safety Sub-Committee of Ways and Means, and as Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Committee on Information Management and Technology. A native of Eagle Point, Oregon, Rob is passionate about inspiring curiosity and creativity, compelling critical thinking, fostering discovery and creating lives of purpose in the Rogue Valley.
