Undergraduate Students and Conditional Admission

When an undergraduate student (or second bachelor’s degree student) meets all admission requirements except for English proficiency, SOU may offer conditional admission. These students should mark their intent to enroll in the Intensive English Program on their application.

Intensive English Program and Conditional Admission

SOU does not offer admission to the Intensive English Program (IEP) only. Students must meet all admission requirements to the university and must choose a SOU major that they wish to pursue after they complete IEP.

Graduate Students and Conditional Admission

Graduate students may be offered conditional admission at the discretion of the graduate program. Students must complete all graduate program specific requirements (including, but not limited to: program applications, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and essays) before being considered for conditional admission. Not all graduate programs will offer conditional admission. Conditional admission decisions for graduate programs can take up to 6 weeks.
