Evening MBA In-Person MBA in Ashland, Oregon
The Evening MBA is designed for working professionals who want to earn an MBA degree in Oregon without pausing their careers. Classes meet in the evenings on SOU’s Ashland campus, creating a collaborative environment with professionals from diverse industries.
Operating on SOU’s standard 11-week academic terms, most students complete the Evening MBA in approximately two years while taking two to three courses per term. Small class sizes foster discussion, applied learning, and direct faculty mentorship.

3|4+1 Accelerated Pathway to MBA Program
The Accelerated MBA (AMBA) allows qualified SOU undergraduates to earn both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA efficiently. Through the 3+1 or 4+1 structure, students complete select graduate-level coursework during their senior year that applies to both degrees.
After completing their undergraduate degree, students transition directly into the Evening MBA format, continuing with the same faculty and concentrations.
Undergraduate tuition rates apply to all MBA graduate courses, creating a cost-effective pathway to an MBA in Oregon.

AMBA students complete the same concentrations available in the Evening MBA program.

Online MBA — Fully Online MBA in Oregon
SOU’s Online MBA (online.sou.edu/degrees/business/mba) provides the same rigorous MBA curriculum delivered in a fully online format. Designed for professionals who require maximum flexibility, the Online MBA operates in accelerated seven-week terms with five terms per year.
Most students complete the Online MBA in 16–20 months while balancing career and personal commitments. Courses are asynchronous, allowing students across Oregon and beyond to engage on their own schedules.

The Master of Business Administration at Southern Oregon University requires 45 total credits. This curriculum ensures graduates develop both strategic systems-level thinking and specialized expertise in high-demand business disciplines.
33 Credits — Core Courses (10 courses)
Students build foundational expertise in leadership, strategic management, marketing, managerial accounting, finance, operations, economics, legal and ethical decision-making, and information systems.
12 Credits — Elective Courses (3 or more courses)
Students specialize through a concentration aligned with their professional goals.
Capstone Experience
The program concludes with an integrative strategy or applied capstone project using case studies that connects theory to real-world organizational challenges.

Applicants who meet any of the conditions below will be given a full admission status:
Conditional Admission Status
Students admitted on a Conditional status must earn a B or better grade in the courses taken during the first term in the program, else will not be allowed to continue in the program.
Southern Oregon University’s School of Business Master of Business Administration program is open to individuals from a wide range of academic disciplines who have previously completed a bachelor’s degree. No particular undergraduate major is required for admission. The basic foundational courses such as managerial accounting, economics, and basic statistics are embedded in the core MBA courses.
Applicants planning to complete the program in one year must start the program in the fall. MBA core courses for the full-time program can be taught in one calendar year (fall, winter, and spring). The part-time program requires 18 to 21 months to complete. Elective courses are offered in various formats and must be discussed with and approved by the MBA program coordinator.
The capstone course is intended to provide an experience that integrates the MBA coursework using intensive business cases and analysis. The students’ business knowledge is tested and applied to demonstrate mastery of business concepts and theory.
