Program Preparation
Biology is a diverse discipline offering an array of different specialty areas. Students with a diverse set of interests are drawn to the Biology major, sharing a deep curiosity t of how the natural world works. Our students learn to apply the core principles of biological science when working to solve human and environmental problems.
Degree Roadmap
Biology majors begin by taking introductory biology and chemistry course sequences, ideally in their first year. All biology majors move on to a series of upper division core courses in Genetics, Physiology, Ecology, Evolution, and Cell Biology, followed by their choice of upper division elective courses in their areas of interest. Virtually all biology courses include a laboratory or field component to provide students with extensive hands-on experience with procedures and equipment.
Capstone
No matter the degree, an emphasis in finance and economics can enhance a wide range of studies and make a graduate more agile and competitive on the job market. The Certificate in Applied Finance and Economics program integrates courses from two disciplines, synthesizing the broad theoretical subject overview and applications provided in economics with the practical and applied areas emphasized in finance.
