Tourism Management, Minor
The Tourism Management minor provides practical and professional experience to prepare future industry leaders
The perfect candidates are students with drive and desire to develop business skills and knowledge of tourism. Students prepared to develop critical thinking and analytical skills, mindful innovative thought and sustainability awareness are perfect candidates for the Tourism Management minor.
The minor provides students with basic knowledge on each of the subsectors in the tourism industry, and an understanding of the positive or negative impact a tourism business can have on communities, the environment, and global sustainability. Students are required to complete courses in accounting, lodging operations, food and beverage management, and sustainable tourism. With the additional elective course, students can explore another area of tourism that fits with their career goal.
The minor in Tourism Management is an excellent complement to many majors. Students will learn management skills, and how to better understand the relationship between travel and sustainability, both critical competitive skills in today’s job market.
