Southern Oregon University (SOU) and the University of Guanajuato (UG) offer simultaneously the Master in Management at SOU, and the “Maestria en Alta Gestion” (Master in Management) at the University of Guanajuato to provide UG students with an educational option that allows them to obtain the degree of both institutions while living and working in Mexico. Participants completing the program earn a dual Master in Management degree (MiM) from Southern Oregon University and the University of Guanajuato. The dual degree agreement between SOU and the University of Guanajuato makes it possible for students to earn the Maestría en Alta Gestion from UG as they complete the MiM.
Students participating in this program are Mexican managers in private, public, and nonprofit sectors brought together to learn more about current best practices in management and to compare and contrast practices that vary from sector to sector. The result is a rich, synergistic learning environment where an understanding of effective management practice is expanded in a variety of contexts, not bound into narrowly defined areas of technical specialization or academic theory.
The degree is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). NWCCU is the principal academic accrediting organization for all universities in the Pacific Northwest. NWCCU accreditation is recognized by all other regional accrediting bodies in the United States and internationally. ACBSP is a specialized international accrediting organization that reviews the quality and integrity of business degree programs.
