Leadership in Higher Education

The Leadership in Higher Education micro-credential provides the foundational knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary for leadership roles in higher education. You will develop an understanding of higher ed policy, practices, systems and structures to elevate your career opportunities in higher education and related fields.

Develop essential skills to create and lead learning experiences for adult audiences in higher education settings, Address complex social, political, and fiscal factors, And gain knowledge and skills needed for creating an inclusive culture in the higher education environment. The mirco-credential provides a specialized research-based education for post-baccalaureate learners and may be completed in one year, starting any quarter.

• ED 596: Higher Education’s Systems and Culture
• ED 594: Institutional Strategies for Student Support

And choose from the following two courses:

• ED 597: Creativity in the Workplace and Higher Education
• ED 595: Models of Professional Ethics and Leadership

• The purpose is two-fold, to provide a pathway into the MSEd degree for adult learners interested in a professional area but not commitied to a degree at that time, and create opportunities for our alumni to continue to stay connected with SOU through continued professional development.
