Offered as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Major
The BA degree option provides a broad liberal arts education with the opportunity to explore a wide range of subject areas. The BS degree does not require foreign language study. Students pursuing the BA and BS degree are expected to complete a capstone experience during their senior year.
Offered as a Bachelor of Fine Arts
The BFA degree is appropriate for students who are preparing for professional careers in theatre. BFA candidates must select an area of concentration for their degree. Admission to the BFA is by audition or interview/portfolio review only. Students pursuing the BFA degree are expected to complete a thesis project in their area of concentration.
Offered as a Master of Theatre Studies in Production and Design
An intensive program specifically designed for working high school and community college theatre teachers provides thorough training in the essential script analysis, design, and production aspects of the theatrical process. Offered as a Secondary Discipline Minor
A Musical Theatre minor is a great way to supplement your main degree, whether it’s English or Business or Gender Studies or Criminology or almost any discipline you can think of. The Musical Theatre minor is made up of both Theatre and Music courses, and sharpens students’ ability to communicate expressively and persuasively, which makes them more attractive candidates at multiple levels of the workforce.
Offered as a Secondary Discipline Minor
The Shakespeare Studies minor is part of the Theatre program of the Oregon Center for the Arts at Southern Oregon University. The interdisciplinary field of Shakespeare Studies connects the playwright and his works with the culture of Elizabethan and Jacobean England.
