The Musical Theatre Minor is designed for students from all majors who want to expand their musical theatre performance skills while learning to create collaboratively. This vibrant minor provides foundational skills in acting, singing, dance, song presentation, auditions, and performance for musical theatre. Working alongside faculty and professional guest artists, students will build confidence in their ability to present publicly, communicate expressively, and work imaginatively.
As they prepare songs, master new dance techniques, refine their audition packages and put on a showcase performance, Musical Theatre Minor students will gain confidence in creative thinking and effective presentation.

The Musical Theatre Minor is designed for students from across campus who want to expand their musical theatre performance skills. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
Degree Roadmap
After completing foundational courses in both music and theatre, the minor highlights musical theatre skills, including singing, auditioning, and dance. The program culminates in a collaborative musical theatre presentation. The Musical Theatre minor can be completed within two or more years. Required courses are offered an a rotating basis, biennially – each course is made available once every other year.
