1: Activate Your InsideSOU Account
You will receive communication in your personal email account from oktamailer@sou.edu with instructions on how to activate your student account.
2: Submit the Enrollment Deposit
Want to confirm your spot at SOU, apply for housing, and sign up for advising & registration next steps as soon as you can? Only students who have paid the enrollment deposit have access to those steps.
Pay online through your InsideSOU account. For information visit our enrollment deposit page.
3. Schedule Advising & Registration
Winter, Spring, or Summer 2024 Entry
After your enrollment deposit is paid or deferred, a Student Success Coordinator will contact you via your SOU email to schedule an personal advising & registration appointment.
Fall 2024 Entry
After your enrollment deposit is paid or deferred, your advising & registration next steps information will arrive via your SOU email in Spring 2024.
Online Degree Completion Students (All Terms of Entry)
After your enrollment deposit is paid or deferred, a Student Success Coordinator will contact you via your SOU email to schedule an personal advising & registration appointment.
4: Check Your SOU Email Regularly
You will receive important links, reminders, and requests from SOU.
5: Report Changes to Admissions
If you wish to change your entry term, your academic major, or decline your admission to the university, please notify the Office of Admissions at admissions@sou.edu or 855.470.3377.

Attend Raider Reception
Raider Reception celebrates your admission to SOU and provides information about the important next steps to becoming a SOU Raider. We offer an on-campus Raider Reception as well as a virtual Raider Reception! Find out more at sou.edu/receptions.
Submit Final Documents
After graduating high school or completing college work, send the Office of Admissions your final official transcripts as soon as they are available. See our How to Apply page.
Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov (or the Oregon Student Aid Application at oregonstudentaid.gov.) To be considered for SOU scholarships, admitted students may to complete the Southern Oregon Scholarship Application (SOSA) by March 15th.
Submit the Housing Contract
Students who are within their first year of high school graduation are required to live on campus in the residence halls. Submit your housing contract to reserve a room in our residence halls. After signing up for the residence halls, students should check their SOU email regularly for information about room selection, which happens during the summer months.

Submit Mandatory Immunization Records and Health History Form
SOU is required by the State of Oregon to provide information on vaccine-preventable diseases, which can be found here. Students must verify their immunization status with Student Health and Wellness. For more information and to submit the mandatory forms, please visit inside.sou.edu/health .
Order Your Textbooks
As soon as you are registered for classes, you can reserve your textbooks online through our bookstore at sou.bncollege.com.
Pay Your Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are due once classes start. To estimate your costs of attendance, please visit our online calculators at inside.sou.edu/enrollment/cost.html.
