Certificate in Management of Human Resources
An interdisciplinary program for those who want to bring out the best in others.
Program Preparation
To pursue this certificate, students must be a current SOU students who are meeting the requirements for a BA or BS degree and students who already have a BA or BS degree (post-baccalaureate). This interdisciplinary format requires the completion of 12 credits of prerequisites, a 28-credit core, and eight elective credits chosen from at least two of the three disciplines. This format allows the student to build an area of strength in a preferred field of focus.
Degree Roadmap
This program is an excellent option for students majoring or minoring in business, communication, or psychology. The program is also open to students of any major and can be completed concurrently or after a bachelor’s degree. Each student works with the CMHR advisor to facilitate an individual plan of study in the certificate program.
Degree Integration
The certificate requires the completion of a practicum/internship in the field of HR. An internship allows students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real business challenges. The internship often leads to a job offer and successful networking in the profession.
