Summer Term Financial Aid
Students interested in summer financial aid must first register for summer courses AND have a completed FAFSA on file. There is NOT a separate summer financial aid application. If students are determined eligible for summer aid, they should be packaged within 3-4 weeks after registration. If a student does not receive award notifications, it has been determined they are not eligible for summer aid.
Financial aid for the summer quarters works differently from the standard fall, winter, and spring terms. For 2023 – 2024, Other than Pell, eligibility is partly based on the remaining aid from Fall 2023, Winter 2024, and Spring 2024 terms. For instance, if a student has borrowed maximum loan eligibility for the aid year, they are typically not eligible for a summer loan disbursement.
Eligibility is based on the 2023-2024 FAFSA and general requirements for financial aid disbursement, included in our terms and conditions. 12 credits is considered full time. Students cannot use future funds from the 2024-2025 award year to pay for summer 2024. Unresolved issues on student accounts may prevent summer awarding and if not resolved before your enrollment ceases for the term may not be able to offer/disbursed financial aid to your account for Summer. It’s very important that all financial aid requirements are resolved and aid disbursed before your classes end or there’s a chance it will be too late to receive that funding.
The 2023-2024 FAFSA must be completed by June 30th, 2024. The FAFSA closes at this time and there’s no appeal for missing the deadline.
