Student Registration at SOU
Students can register for classes through SISWeb, SOU’s online tool available to all admitted students at Southern Oregon University.
Registration Dates
Currently enrolled and readmitted, former students are eligible to register according to the prioritized schedule below. The schedule lists the date and time a particular group of students may start registering for classes based on the number of successfully earned and graded credit hours through the most recently completed term. For transfer students, this includes transfer credit accepted by SOU.
Enrollment and Degree Verification
The National Student Clearinghouse is a nationally recognized data warehouse and is the official agent for all enrollment verification requests of SOU. Enrollment verifications may be needed for health insurance, scholarships, loan deferments, degree verifications from alumni, employers, or other third parties. No enrollment or degree verifications will be provided over the phone, in writing or by Raider Student Services staff.
Enrollment Appeals
The Enrollment Policy Appeals Board adjudicates petitions for registration changes for the current term or immediately preceding terms.
To request a change, you must explain the extenuating circumstances which prevented you from meeting the established registration deadlines. Procedures for completing petitions to change one’s registration information are listed below.
Appeals must be filed within 60 days of the end of the term being appealed. No appeals filed outside this time limit will be considered unless documentation includes additional or continued extenuating circumstances which prevented the student from meeting this deadline. Incomplete appeals will not be accepted.
Readmission
Readmission after a one year suspension is to be completed by students who are seeking readmission to SOU after being suspended for a minimum of one full year.
To apply to SOU for an appeal of your suspension through the Academic Standards Committee (ASC), students will need to complete the entire early readmission petition.
Grade Mode Change
Find information about grade mode change, grade mode requests, pass/no-pass requirements, and more.
Irregular Registration
Irregular registrations are individualized independent study courses arranged between a student(s) and instructor for a given term. Irregular Registrations are not to be used to circumvent course descriptions, credits, repeat limits, grade modes, fees, academic calendar deadlines, or other SOU policies.
